If your blessing is based on your perfection, then you are in trouble. -Pastor Andy Thompson
Happy Saturday!
I have been wanting to blog about this topic for a while now. I'm sure I got confirmation to do so with all of the events happening in my corner of the world now.
Ever since forever, it felt like I was trying to measure up. I always wanted to be a better student, nurse, daughter, etc. To me, I don't get to a certain place in my life and feel like its "good enough", I've always wanted better. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to want better, it's not. The toxic part about it is when you are chasing perfection when in reality it doesn't happen. The only time I've experienced something perfect was knowing and learning from a perfect God and His son.
Chasing perfection can be exhausting, especially knowing it doesn't exist. We, as humans, should always be striving towards something better. If not, you'll be stuck doing the same old things. It's absolutely insane to know people who apply the techinques to a problem expecting different results.
So for me, I know I can't be perfect, no matter hard I try. I know for a fact I can try to be better--especially when I know I screwed up. One of the most beautiful things I've seen in the bible is that God Himself doesn't expect us to be perfect but to try.
I would love to hear from you all on this topic.
Feel free to share on social media!
